Weather refers to the state of the atmosphere, the degree to which it is cold or hot, calm or stormy, wet or dry and with the temperature and moisture being the main determinants. Different places experience different weather conditions at any one given time. One thing is that as a person you cannot accurately predict how the weather will be in advance, and this is where the weather apps that can be installed on your phone come in.

Dark Sky weather apps have gained a lot of popularity in the recent past due to their state of the art weather prediction and forecasting capabilities which have proven to be accurate each and every time based on reviews from the users. One is able to plan their day more properly and even determine the activities they will engage in such as picnics, walks, jogs, fishing, etc. You are also able to know if you need to carry an umbrella or rain coat on your way out or if you just need to wear light clothing. The Dark sky weather apps also predict if it will snow, enabling you to be more prepared and perhaps reschedule some activities and spend the day indoors.

A huge advantage with the weather apps is that they have GPS which provides the ability to identify your exact location therefore give more accurate predictions. There is the inbuilt feature; push notifications that enables you to get an alert even before it actually starts raining or snowing. The radar animations also provide amazing detailed effects and even show storm paths which can help you avoid the same. You can also be able to view other weather in various parts of the country straight from your phone.

The visualisations provided by the weather apps are modern and useful; it includes a chart and also a full screen map showing the bigger picture of expected conditions in a precise and personalised manner. The data used by the weather apps is collected from the national weather service.

**NEW: Version 2.0, with Push Notifications! Dark Sky will notify you before it starts raining wherever you are.**

Dark Sky can tell you at a glance exactly when it will rain (or snow) up to an hour in advance, so you’re free to walk the dog or play another set of tennis and know you’ll stay dry. You can also explore the most beautiful weather animation you’ve ever seen, both forward in time or back.

Using GPS, Dark Sky is able to create forecasts for your precise location. And because Dark Sky focuses on the next hour, we are able to give you minute-to-minute predictions.

The same technology that powers Dark Sky’s predictions also allows us to make the world’s first perfectly smooth radar animation. Other apps show you a chunky slideshow that makes it nearly impossible to tell how storms are moving. But Dark Sky’s beautiful radar animation lets you see the actual path of the storm: how it moved in the past, and where it’s going in the future.

Dark Sky can send you an alert before it starts raining at your exact location. Even if you haven't opened the app in days, Dark Sky will know when you're in the path of a storm.

NOTE: Dark Sky currently supports the United States, including Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico.

Beautiful App'

Just updated tonight, can't find the option to turn off the 'clear skies are boring' message. Also when I attempt to view the 'USA' map it attempts to load then cuts off, program closed. I deleted then reinstalled the app but didn't help.

Love this app either way, very beautiful' Thanks for the hard work'
New icon

This app keeps getting better and better. I love the new country view and the new icon. I had to delete and reinstall for it to show, but that's minor. Awesome app!
